Winterizing your RV? Here are Some Things You'll Need

by Julie T 10/22/2020
Winter is right around the corner and for a lot of us that means the RV camping season may soon be coming to an end. Unless you plan on traveling through the winter or re-locating to a warmer area, you’ll soon have to get your RV ready for long term storage. Winterizing your RV can be an involved process, but will save you a lot of headaches come springtime. Make sure you have what you need to prep your camper’s plumbing system, as well take care of the other aspects of getting it ready for winter.
What You Should Know About RV Battery Maintenance

by Julie T 9/24/2020
With colder temperatures not too far away, now is a great time to make sure your RV’s batteries are in good condition, especially if you plan to have your RV in storage over the winter. Even if you aren’t storing your RV, and you plan to take a winter RV trip or head south during the colder months, it’s important to keep your batteries maintained. Lower temperatures can mean less storage capacity. Your RV’s deep cycle flooded batteries are meant to last for several years, but that can be cut down to just a year or two if they are not properly maintained.
Ways to Keep Your RV Level

by Julie T 8/27/2020
Keeping your RV level can be crucial, not only to your overall comfort, but to other factors as well. For example, if you have an absorption refrigerator, it needs to stay level while it’s running in order to work properly. Also, a coach that is not level can put additional stress and wear on the frame. How much you have to level your RV can depend on where you are. Campgrounds will most likely be more level than what you would find while boondocking.
Having a Clean RV Interior Includes a Central Vacuum System

by Julie T 7/30/2020
If you’ve been taking advantage of RV travel this season, now might be a good time to give it a mid-season spruce-up. Depending on where you’ve traveled, who you’ve been with, and even the types of weather you’ve experienced, there might still be dirt lingering in places that perhaps you haven’t gotten to in any routine cleanings. If your RV’s interior looks like it could use some help, you’ve come to the right place. There are number of ways to get the interior clean and keep it that way, one of the most convenient being an RV central vacuum system.
Keeping Your RV Cool in Warm Weather

by Julie T 6/25/2020
Now that the warm weather is finally here, you’ll want to make sure you can keep your RV cool and comfortable inside. One big part of that is making sure your RV’s air conditioner is working efficiently. After all, when the temperatures climb, you don’t want to step inside your RV and find that it’s just as hot and humid inside as it is outside. Keeping your RV air conditioner in top shape is only part of it, however. There are several other ways you can help maintain cooler temperatures inside that don’t involve running your A/C.

Staying Safe with RV Fire Prevention

by Julie T 4/30/2020
You may not want to think about it, but RV fire safety is just as important as home fire safety. Fires can spread in an RV quickly due to how they are built and the materials used. Believe it or not, thousands of RV fires happen across the country each year. They can stem from several different causes. Proper care and maintenance can prevent a lot of issues that may start a fire, but it’s important to have a plan in place to know what to do in case a fire does break out in your RV.
Getting a Surge Protector for Your RV

by Julie T 3/26/2020
With spring comes the severe weather season across good portions of the country. However, lightning strikes aren’t the only thing that can potentially damage the electronics in your RV. Faulty wiring or an unreliable power supply at the campground can also cause headaches for your motorhome’s electrical system. Using an RV surge protector can go a long way toward keeping you from costly repair or replacement. But with so many options out there, it can seem overwhelming to choose the one that’s right for you.
EternaBond Effectively Repairs or Prevents Leaks in Your RV Roof

by Julie T 2/27/2020
With spring on the horizon, there are a number of things you’ll need to do to get your RV ready after spending months in storage. Even if you used your RV through the winter, now’s the perfect time to get it ready for the warmer weather. One important aspect that you won’t want to overlook is your RV’s roof. If your motorhome has a rubber roof, it should be cleaned and checked for leaks at least twice a year, more if you plan to go on any long road trips. Leaks can cause a big problem if left unchecked, so you should look for potential damage both inside and out. Areas that can be prone to leaks include anywhere there is something mounted to the roof and along seams.
The Importance of an RV Tire Pressure Monitoring System

by Julie T 1/30/2020
Keeping track of your tire pressure is just as important for your RV as it is for your car. Tires that are over-inflated will cause wear to the center tread of the tire, while tires that are under-inflated will wear down side treads. In both cases, tires that are not inflated properly can be more easily affected by bumps, potholes, and other road hazards. This plus the uneven wear of the tire treads can lead to a greater chance of flats or blowouts. Even if that doesn’t occur, tires that aren’t inflated correctly affect the handling and breaking of your RV. Having a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can give you peace of mind while you’re on the road and help make your drive safer.
